For the Love of Books

"It was a long walk back from the Woodland Library but they could not decide which books they wanted to read first, so for the love of books they piled them high and set off on their way home. They had to be careful they didn't bump into any trees along the way!"

I just love books and so had great fun imagining these bears with their favourite books! I remember this dilemma as a child at the library, you could only take out a certain amount of books but there were so many I liked! This sweet mounted print is available now in my Etsy store.

It's been a cold week, with some snow and then lots of frost so it's like an ice rink out there! Although this very pretty ice rink tempted me out for a walk yesterday to take some photos and I nearly ended up on my backside more times than I care to mention ;) So I hope you all enjoy these photos, the windmill is just at the end of my lane and no that grand white building is not my house, it's at the entrance to a little wood in the village ( you can click on the photos to enlarge)!

I've got lots more that I am busy creating at the moment, so do join the bears and I back here soon. In the meantime keep warm,
Beary Hugs, Catherine x

Awww...that is very sweet! I felt the same way as a child at the library and still do as an adult in the bookstore! LOL! Maybe I should go to the library more often! Your photos are lovely!

Bears and books go so well together - neither of them make a sound, except in our heads!

Glad you didn't fall over and hurt yourself on the ice!

Hugs 2 you and the bears ♥

I love this. The grabear family has a love affair w/ books for 3 generations. I got to take myg/daughters to the library last spring.I was overjoyed to have my 6 yr old read to me out a 4th grade book.
Books and bears you can never have toomany of.I go to the library 1 day week when its gets hot in El Paso. It's the cooleset place in town. I can read the magazines and new books for free!!
I love your drawing. It brings back such fond memories of taking my kids to the library in Conn w/no car and a baby in the stroller. The twins were 3 1/2 then. They went to story hour and I looked @ books and talked to other moms.
Keep up the good work. glograbear

This is my favorite drawing yet! I love books! How ironic because Hamish ended up in our library:)

I used to love the library as a child. I'd never look at more than one page of a book before I got it home, as I felt it would spoil the surprise!

Very cute bears!

You live in such a beautiful spot! I have location envy!

I loved the library when I was younger. Now the bookstore has replaced the library. I can't bear to return a single book that I've read!

These bears are simply delightful indeed! You have done so a wonderful job on all of your illustrations. You should be so proud of yourself. I really like what you have done!!! Great work. The color is just wonderful and yummy and warm . I agree with Lynda, bears and books go together. I have a whole pile of books in front of me right now on this cold winter's day and I have out my paints and brushes and lots of ideas. Thanks for sharing your awesome world with us. Thanks again for stopping by.

I adore the "books" illustration. It reminds me of my daughter. She usually walks around with piles of books like that!
